Why not just issue a message when running epiphany-webkit and abort when epiphany-gecko is running and vice-versa ? Or maybe only issue a message. On second thought, I think it would be a bad idea to do this, since the preferences should probably not be shared between two dbus services. It's guaranteed to cause side effects like one of them thinking it exited with a crash while the other is running, and it may even lead to user data corruption. -- .''`. I already know this issue; it is caused by both epiphanies using the same DBUS service. I'll try to see if I can fix that later, but it is more complicated than simply shipping both builds as we do currently. Cheers, -- .''`. Bug#446037: epiphany-browser: Epiphany-webkit command runs epiphany-gecko when another instance of e-g is open, and vice versa
Package: epiphany-browser Version: 2.20.0-3 Severity: normal When I run "epiphany-webkit" from the command line with an instance of epiphany-gecko open already, another epiphany-gecko instance is opened. This is confirmed by the "About" page, which still says that its powered by gecko-1.8. If I have an epiphany-webkit instance open first, and then run "epiphany-gecko" from the command line, another epiphany-webkit instance starts. -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.22-2-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages epiphany-browser depends on: ii epiphany-gecko2.20.0-3 Intuitive GNOME web browser - Geck ii epiphany-webkit 2.20.0-3 Intuitive GNOME web browser - webk epiphany-browser recommends no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
