The upstream dev is asking on 
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=452372

Does the crash happen immediately after playing video, without any specific
 window operation?
 I'm using mplayer fine on 855GM, except bug#13108 which requires some specific
 operation to trigger the bug and has been proven to be server issue (working
 with server tip but broken with server 1.4).

Could you reply directly to him and add yourself to CC?
