Bug#471137: Spam: libghc6-http-dev: incorrectly uses absolute URI in show Request

2009-01-21 Thread Sigbjorn Finne

Hi Arjan,

I claim that this has been addressed and fixed in the new 4000.x versions of
the HTTP package. Give it a go, if possible -

 http://projects.haskell.org/http/

When using sendHTTP, show Request shows the full URI, including the

be sent, and only use the full URI for proxies. Anyway, there are
various servers out there who will send back 4xx errors if you use the
full URI.

Are you sure it is fixed in the darcs version? I do not see any relevant
changes in the show function of Request or the sendHTTP function. Maybe
I am mistaken but it seems to me sendHTTP still send a full URI to the
server.

Greetings Arjan
