Ah I first also thought that you meant 2.6.25 but you write 2.4.x twice :)

Anyway the 2.6.25 kernel isn't also in Debian and to get work 8.4 with
2.6.25 is an little bit tricky.

You've to patch two functions in the fglrx source and you've to patch
also your kernel. The kernel symbol init_mm is marked as obsolete and
will be removed with 2.6.26 completly.

So where can i find that patches? Anyway Debian will upload 2.6.25 to
unstable one day or the other...

Anyway, funny u've got to patch the kernel too ...
