 Package: boot-kernel

When booting process is occurring, System is installed and previously booted.
 I get alternately:

BUG: soft lookup - CPU#_ stuck for 11's [modprobe: 1205] (note below)
hda: drive not ready for command - - just rolls up the screen (my first
 DVD/CD drive)

NOTE: I get various modprobe numbers 1205,1643,1626,1743 as examples.
I also see the following additional information in the dmesg messages with
 the BUG messsage:
Pid: 1205, comm: modprobe Not tainted (2.6.24-1-686 #1)
 EIP: 0060:[f889bdfb] EFLAGS: 0212 CPU: 1

I have an Intel QX6800 duo quad processor (2.93GHz). Installed on 29320 SCSI
 system. 4GB 800MHz memory. 1333MHz MB.

Does this error still occur with more recent kernel versions?

Cheers,
Moritz

2008-06-03 Thread maximilian attems
 Version: April 21 version.

sorry but that version string is wrong.

please give feedback on 2.6.25 from unstable installs just in testing.
otherwise i'd have to close this report missing vital info.

thanks
