After the upgrade from 2.20.x the subtitles are not working anymore. On
the menu View - Subtitles it says Empty. It is working with other
media players like mplayer and VLC.
On the future lists for 2.22 it says:

# use like: totem file:///file.avi#subtitle:file.srt)
# DVD, VCD and OGG/OGM subtitles and languages support
There is no way I could make it work with file:/// -- not even the movie
is loading.
