Bug#481370: please add syntax checking for interfaces file
Package: netbase Version: 4.32 Severity: wishlist Would be great to have some check target launching /etc/init.d/networking. Let's say you have many VLANs/interfaces with the similar names (which is not so rarely seen in more complex environments). Making somewhere typo - conflicting names and rebooting such machine leads to not setting any interface, which is pretty annoying when you're doing it remotely. I suggest another target (check) which would test current entries in interfaces file and complain if there's something wrong. regards fEnIo -- ,''`.
