Bug#483646: bc: missing support for locale NOT A BUG
If you read the POSIX specification, this is conformant behavior. POSIX specifies that the '.' is not localized to ',' so that there is no ambiguity in function calls, as in f(2,3,4). Bug#483646: bc: missing support for locale
Package: bc Version: 1.06.94-3 Severity: wishlist Norwegian uses , as decimal sign, and if you use the numeric keybad, you get this where you in a US-keyboard get a .. This means that you cant use only the numeric keypad to enter the numbers, you also have to switch to the alphanumeric keyboard. Of course there are times where I also value to be able to use . as decimal point, but then I could just issue LANG=C. -- System Information: Debian Release: lenny/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (900, 'testing'), (850, 'stable'), (800, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.24-1-686 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=nb_NO.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=nb_NO.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages bc depends on: ii libc6 2.7-10 GNU C Library: Shared libraries ii libncurses5 5.6+20080308-1 Shared libraries for terminal hand ii libreadline5 5.2-3 GNU readline and history libraries bc recommends no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe.
