Package: bugs.debian.org Version: N/A Severity: wishlist Hi folks
For the Linux kernel packages, mostly the source package linux-2.6, we get a large amount of duplicate bug reports, spread over hundreds of binary packages. To make the handling of them easier please allow forcemerge of packages within the binaries of one source. (See this message[1].) The semantic may be something like the following: - If the set of package names match (the current check), go on. - If the set of sourcepackages match, merge the package names. Example: - Bug a: filed against linux-image-2.6.26-1-686, found in 2.6.26-4. - Bug b: filed against linux-image-2.6.26-1-amd64, found in 2.6.26-6. may produce a merged bug which is filed against "linux-image-2.6.26-1-686,linux-image-2.6.26-1-amd64", found in "2.6.26-4,2.6.26-6".
