Anders M-Pedersen has put geoclue (using this packaging) into his PPA for
easier testing. https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/260977/comments/8

This package is incorrectly generated: the diff.gz patches debian/ files
which are already in the tar.gz. If you replace the orig.tar.gz with a
fresh copy downloaded from freedesktop.org and rebuild the package the
diff.gz should be correctly generated.

 This package is incorrectly generated
 Ross

Thanks Ross - I've regenerated the diff.gz and uploaded the new version.

changelog:
Incorrect version (should be 0.11.1-1). Missing a newline between the
version and the details.

README.Debian:

Remove it's pointless.

libgeoclue-dev.install:

This is shipping the example binaries, which are described as being in
geoclue-example in control.

geoclue.install:

/usr/share/doc/gtk-doc should be in the -dev package, as it's API
reference.

control

You don't need to add libdbus-glib and libgconf to Depends,
shlibs:Depends will do that. geoclue-example is described as containing
example programs yet contains a backend.

geoclue-geonames.install:

This installs the geoclue-gpsd backend binary

compat:

Bump to 5

rules:

version and major are not used, remove. I'd suggest using CDBS but that
is up to you. :)

geoclue-localnet.install

Again, installs the gpsd binary

I'll build it in a pbuilder shortly, if it works I'll try and sponsor it
soon.

Bug#505255: RFS: geoclue - modular geoinformation service built on top of D-Bus

2008-11-16 Thread Craig Andrews
Greeting mentors,

I'm looking for a sponsor for the package geoclue.

* Package name: geoclue
  Version : 0.11.1
  Upstream Author : Keith Preston [EMAIL PROTECTED], Jussi Kukkonen
[EMAIL PROTECTED], Iain Holmes [EMAIL PROTECTED]
* URL : http://geoclue.freedesktop.org
* License : LGPL
  Section : libs

Description:
Geoclue is a modular geoinformation service built on top of the D-Bus
messaging system. The goal of the Geoclue project is to make creating
location-aware applications as simple as possible.

It builds these binary packages:
geoclue, libgeoclue0, libgeoclue-dev, geoclue-manual, geoclue-hostip,
geoclue-plazes, geoclue-gpsd, geoclue-geonames, geoclue-gsmloc,
geoclue-localnet, geoclue

The package is almost lintian clean. Some man pages are missing.

The upload would fix these bugs: 505255 (ITP).

The package can be found on my site
- URL: http://www.integralblue.com/debian/

Thanks a lot for reviewing (and hopefully uploading) this package!
~Craig
