Bug#510977: aptitude: Strange Norwegian localization error

2009-01-06 Thread Hans F. Nordhaug
Hi Ove/Jens,

the bug has been fixed in the attached patch. I have checked the
translation and this is the only mistake involving recommend/suggest.
Thx a lot for the bug report, Ove. And thx for the CC, Jens.

Regards,
Hans

thanks for your bugreport.

Please confirm that the problem is a mistranslation of "recommends" to
"krever" (==requires) and of "suggests" to "anbefaler" (==recommends).

I first assumed it should be "mutt anbefaler devscripts" instead of
"devscripts anbefaler mutt".

I attached the current PO file (I just dropped comments at the end of the file
to reduce it). Can you please send a patch against this file? Probably it is
a good idea to check other translations of "recommends" and "suggests" as well
(and to be honest I have to check this also always in my German translation
because both words are synonyms for me :-))

PS: The previous translator is CC:ed.

Bug#510977: aptitude: Strange Norwegian localization error

2009-01-06 Thread Ove Kaaven
Package: aptitude
Version: 0.4.11.11-1~lenny1
Severity: minor
Tags: l10n

In the screen you get to after choosing "g", you usually get to
select/deselect automatically-selected, recommended, and suggested
packages. When selecting a package, the info pane shows its relation
to other packages that will be installed. In the Norwegian translation,
these texts seem a little off.

Packages that will be installed because of a Depends say, e.g.

"wine avhenger av libwine-gl", meaning "wine depends on libwine-gl".
That one's OK, I guess, just listing it for completeness.

Packages that are listed because of a Recommends say, e.g.

"devscripts krever equivs", meaning "devscripts requires equivs"
or "devscripts demands equivs", which doesn't seem right.

Packages that are listed because of a Suggests say, e.g.

"devscripts anbefaler mutt", meaning "devscript recommends mutt".
Not quite right, either.
