Bug#511682: mousepad: printing does not work because of dependencies

2009-01-13 Thread Holger Wansing
Package: mousepad
Version: 0.2.8-1
Severity: wishlist

Printing does not work in mousepad, when xfce4 is installed
by default, because xfprint4 (and a2ps) are missing.

Maybe change the dependencies, to install xfprint4 and a2ps
with mousepad?

(reading the package description, it tells about beeing mousepad
basically a new leafpad with printing support added. It would be a
pity, if printing would not work then.)

 mousepad Recommends: xfprint4, kthxbye

Of course, I know.
Question is, if the Recommend should be changed to a Depend.
(therefore I wrote: change the dependencies, to install xfprint4 and
a2ps with mousepad. Now xfprint4 and a2ps are not installed automatically.)

Recommends: are installed by default. If you deactivate them, then
that's your choice. And they are displayed when using apt-get, for
example.
Btw xfprint4 is *not* required for mousepad to work, so that's clearly
not a dependency. Recommends: is exactly what it needs.

Cheers,
