Bug#513746: [openoffice.org] Splash screen appears slanted

2010-08-31 Thread Michael Hendry
In my case - a recently installed Ubuntu Lucid Lynx - the splash screen
was normal for a couple of weeks until today, when it appeared upside
down, black and white and in low-res.

I'm not aware of having done anything to the splash image itself, but
I've been looking into a problem with my ATI Radeon 300X video card,
which I think may be responsible for intermittent crackling (like a
cracked record, but irregular) when I watch a video in full-screen mode.

It's not causing me any great trouble, but if any further information
might help elucidate a bug I'd be happy to help.

Michael

Hi,

Works for me. With intel hardware.

I'm guessing OOo is at fault. xdpyinfo also attached.

I doubt that. Of course, you reported it with the broken reportbug-ng, so
necessary
infos like the lib versions e.g. -core depends on is missing. :-(

I already received a report like this shortly after 3.0.0(!) went into
experimental,
though, but I never saw it myself.

 screen #0:
   dimensions:1280x1792 pixels (338x473 millimeters)

What is that for a weird resolution? (No idea whether that's the cause, but..)

René

I thought it Bastian gave in and fixed it? Hmm, good to know. I've attached
plain reportbug's bug template.

Yeah, it's been there. It just crossed the annoyance threshold a bit later.

It's my laptop screen stacked on top of a 19 LCD. Flaky intel crap doesn't
support them side-by-side, at least if I like my 3D accellerated.

In any case, I just tried with the LCD turned off, which gives me 1024x768. No
luck still.
