Bug#522220: statsvn: Improbable values in activity charts
Hello, On Wed, Apr 1, 2009 at 8:50 PM, Andrey cmr.p...@gmail.com wrote: I've run statsvn on a checkout of part of my repository, and in the activity charts I see that I've done ~600 commits on Sundays. It's funny because currently my repository has only 292 commits. The commit distribution looks more or less as expected. I'm unsure, but I think that statsvn counts commits as one commit per file. I don't have the means to check that now, but would that make sense ? I think statsvn did also severely overestimate the number of code lines. From what I remember, statsvn counts changed lines as LOC: if you have one file with one line that you've changed hundreds of times, you'll get a high line count. I'll try that on a dummy repository some time later. Cheers, Vincent -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? 2009/4/2 Vincent Fourmond fourm...@debian.org: I'm unsure, but I think that statsvn counts commits as one commit per file. I don't have the means to check that now, but would that make sense ? It would probably explain the result, but would not really make sense because in Subversion commits are truly atomic. Counting each file commited as a separate commit is very misleading. However, the distribution of files commited might be an interesting statictic, too. Of course... However, keep in mind that statsvn is based on statcvs, with an underlying idea of compatibility of results. In CVS, commits are only file-based. I'll check some time soon. Cheers !
