Bug#523345: bug#523345: gstreamer0.10-plugins-bad: Still crashes Pidgin

2009-05-14 Thread Deng Xiyue
Package: gstreamer0.10-plugins-bad
Version: 0.10.11-2
Severity: normal

Similar symptom here. The first time I launch finch, it quits with
Illegal instructions, and from the second time it just segfaults.
Installing pidgin-dbg and gstreamer0.10-plugins-bad-dbg still doesn't
give a reasonable backtrace, just:

(gdb) bt full
#0 0x in ?? ()
No symbol table info available.
#1 0x in ?? ()
No symbol table info available.
(gdb)

Strace of finch is attached.

 liblrdf0 0.4.0-1.2
 libraptor 1.4.18

 Ok?

Yes, those versions shouldn't crash

Anything I can do to help debugging this?

Yes, install debug packages for libc, glib, libxml2, gstreamer,
gst-plugins-base, gst-plugins-bad and try to get a backtrace with gdb
and a valgrind log :)

2009-04-24 Thread Christoph Anton Mitterer
Hi.

Is anyone looking at this? Or is this package orphaned?

This bug is very annoying as it prevents one from installing
gnome-desktop-environment (which depends on empathy) and thus gnome.

Chris.

Bug#523345: gstreamer0.10-plugins-bad: Still crashes Pidgin

2009-04-09 Thread Bertrand Marc
Package: gstreamer0.10-plugins-bad
Version: 0.10.11-2
Severity: important

Hi,

I upgraded gstreamer-plugins-bad with the new liblrdf, and it solves the issue
with totem, but I'am still unable to launch pidgin. In a terminal, it says
only Opération non permise (meaning operation not permitted) and doesn't
launch pidgin.

I downgraded to 0.10.10.3-1 (found in testing) and pidgin launch perfectly
again.

Regards,
Bertrand
