Bug#524571: Is it related to cron?
I have similar crashes here, when daily cron job runs. But I also realised that it happens sometimes under heavy I/O load. This is problematic because it happens often during the night (backups) or early in the morning (crons) and it wakes up our staff for nothing as the dom0 just reboot itself. Here are the daily crons : -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 16311 Aug 23 2007 aide -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 6822 Feb 8 01:41 apt -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 314 Dec 5 2008 aptitude -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 502 Nov 20 2007 bsdmainutils -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 576 Nov 27 2008 chkrootkit -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 4073 Sep 30 2008 exim4-base -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root89 Oct 8 2008 logrotate -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 954 Jan 24 13:31 man-db -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 438 Oct 28 2008 mlocate -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 651 Aug 25 2008 rkhunter -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 3349 Sep 28 2008 standard -- Charles KOPROWSKI -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Charles, I by pass this problem with changing in the /etc/xen/xend-config.sxp file the line - (dom0-cpus 0) + (dom0-cpus 1) I'm monitoring the server and it's up since 28 days So, change this line (it's easy and cheaper) and try to see what's happen. And if not works, send some new to the bug. Regards, Leo PS the idea of the workarround is from S. Pfeffer so the merit is for him ;-) but I can confirm that at least from me is working. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble?
