Bug#537769: Check that .la files are in -dev and not binary package
tags 537769 wontfix thanks Hi Considering it is a release goal to get .la files removed (where possibly) and this bug conflicts with #586313 I have decided to mark this as wontfix. I will probably close this bug in 14 days (or more) if there have been no decent arguments for keeping this open. ~Niels -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#537769: Check that .la files are in -dev and not binary package
Jeffrey Ratcliffe wrote: Lintian could check that .la files are in the -dev, package and not incorrectly in the binary package. Only if there source package builds a -dev, but even in that case it might be wrong. But even then, this check is more complex than it may sound at first, since .la files are in binary packages while only the source package's debian/control file knows what binary packages are built.
