Bug#539647: minirok: ~ expansion in the directory popup

2009-08-03 Thread Adeodato Simó
+ Ken Bloom (Sun, 02 Aug 2009 12:18:26 -0500):

 Package: minirok
 Version: 2.0-1
 Severity: minor

The directory popup in minirok recognizes the ~ character and uses it
for home directory expansion (e.g. if I type ~/music/, then the
subdirectories of ${HOME}/music will appear in the popup.)

However, minirok itself doesn't recognize the ~, so if I type ~/music/
into the directory popup, minirok won't find the directory, won't list
any files in the file list, and will print a message on STDERR:

minirok: WARNING: could not stat '~/music': No such file or directory

Hello, Ken, thanks for your bug report.

You're correct that this doesn't work at the moment. The fix would be
easy, but rather than adding an ad-hoc solution for this, I'm going to
wait until I refactor all that code and make it use KDE classes
(together with making it use Phonon, I guess). When that happen, any URL
valid to KDE (eg., even smb:// or fish://) will be reproducable with
Minirok.

Hope that plan is okay with you, and thanks again for your bug report.
