Source: zeroc-ice
Version: 3.3.1-1

Hi

Building zeroc-ice33 for amd64 on etch (backporting to etch) does not
work. The HAVE_LIMITS patch seems to choke as limits.h only includes
bits/wordsize.h (where __WORDSIZE comes from) for gcc versions <= 2 and
thus IceUtil/Config.h fails to detect the 64 bit system. __WORDSIZE
seems to be deprecated, judging by this very old bug:

http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=119844

Quoting README.Debian from zeroc-ice package:
"The Debian release contains a small patch using <limits.h> and
<endian.h> as the source of word length and byte order. In order to
keep this release source code compatible with upstream I did not enable
it by default."

Seems to be enabled now :)

Removing the limits/endianess patch seems to have worked to get the
packages to build correctly. Hopefully this is just a problem with
building on amd64 etch and more recent systems work better :)

Siim
