Bug#550236: Patch ineffective

Hello,

I am the new maintainer for secure-delete, and this bug report is 8
years old.

Please, can you tell me what is the output of srm with the -v switch
enabled (so in verbose mode), when it fails with 'Too many open files'?

And by the way, can you send me a tarball with some minimal example able
to trigger this bug?
