You need to have file with a name like /etc/udev/rules.d/z95_tpb.rules
containing:
KERNEL==nvram,MODE=0640,GROUP=nvram
Otherwise udev will set /dev/nvram's group to kmem, and tpb won't work.
It might be a good idea to retire /etc/devfs/conf.d/tpb at the same time.
Delete it (a former conffile) in the preinst, otherwise it lingers after
upgrades -- a dpkg bug?
