Can you change your KDE settings such that gtk applications don't use the KDE theme and see if that works around it ? When I want to start iceweasel again, I'll get the "Iceweasel is already started..."-error. Removing the .parentlock file manually solves the problem. I've tried removing my profile, but the new profile immediately shows the same behaviour.
