There's a mailing list of release announcements: There is also the sylpheed-announce ML (sylpheed-annou...@sraoss.jp) which deals only with release announcements. I suppose this has been added after the bug got reported. In any case now you can disable it in configure, since I think makes little sense in Debian, and close the bug. Best regards, José Luis

Bug#563096: sylpheed: Hide update menu item
Package: sylpheed Version: 3.0.0~beta4-1 Severity: wishlist I emailed the sylpheed mailinglist, requesting a configure option to hide/show the update menu item - Since one should update sylpheed through the package manager, I believe the update menu item should be hidden in the debian package. The configure option is availible in Sylpheed SVN version r2407, see messages in sylpheed mailinglist backlog here: http://www.sraoss.jp/pipermail/sylpheed/2009-December/003409.html -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe.
