Bug#572242: famd uses 100% CPU still occurs

2011-06-14 Thread Julian Hall
Getting the same symptoms as bug #252896. May be triggered by using k3b
to access filesystems mounted over SMB shares (an operation I do
regularly, and which seems related to other reports in 252896).
Installed version is 2.7.0-13.3+lenny1.

Nothing relevant is added to log files when the problem occurs.

Also, I have only noticed this happening recently. It may possibly date
to when I upgraded from 2.7.0-12 around the start of the year, although
I can't rule out other changes as having been the trigger.

Bug#572242: famd uses 100% CPU still occurs

2010-07-30 Thread Thomas Arendsen Hein
I can confirm that the problem regularly occurs (more than once per
month) for us with fam/libfam* 2.7.0-13.3+lenny1 on two machines.

Now I replaced it with the package 'gamin' and first tests show that
it behaves well. Additionally the gam_server is started on demand
per user and can therefore be killed by regular users.

Regards,
Thomas
