Package: dar Version: 2.3.9-2 Severity: normal Hi,
I had a dar archive example.1.dar, and moved it to example.large.1.dar. I wanted to use dar_xform to split the archive across multiple files (to fit on an optical medium). When I tried to use dar_xform (as in "dar_xform -S 850M -s 1G example.large example") it complained: "At least one slice of an old archive with the same basename remains in the directory . , If you do not remove these all first, you will have difficulty identifying the last slice of the archive you are about to create, because it may be hidden in between slices of this older archive. Do we remove the old archive's slices first ? [return = OK | Esc = cancel]" I'm sure I have no idea what it's talking about. This is possibly a bug in it's own right - a bad regex picking up the wrong dot, perhaps. Anyway, I pressed ESC, so I could assess the situation. Then dar_xform printed "Escaping..." and performed the operation anyway! I ended up with the split files I wanted, but dar_xform should've cancelled when I asked it to.
