Many thanks.

Tiny update for the debian bug (and reminder for Paweł ;)): upstream's
been waiting for submitter input since 2010-12-15 (comment#3).

Sorry, I missed it somehow. I will try to provide missing information later
today.

2010-10-13 Thread Paweł Pałucha

OK, too bad. In that case please file a bug at
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/enter_bug.cgi?product=DRI&component=DRM/Intel
and attach the Xorg log and xrandr output as you did here, and dmesg
when booting with the drm.debug=6 kernel command line parameter to get
some more output. Let us know the bug number so we can track it.

Can you also try the 2.6.36-rc kernel from experimental, to see if that
manages to light up your monitor?

Thanks!

expected, as explained in the link I gave.

Please send us X and kernel logs, as well as xrandr output, as well as
the output of the xrandr commands you tried.

I tried to start X using latest xserver-xorg-video-intel - version
2:2.12.0+shadow-2 and not-so-latest kernel 2.6.32-5-686 2.6.32-21. It did not
start, saying that there's no KMS support in kernel. I tried to force it with
'modprobe i915 modeset=1', but it failed with message that kernel modesetting
is not supported for this chipset. Text console worked for both DVI and VGA
output.

So, I upgraded kernel to 2.6.32-5-686 2.6.32-24. Now during boot text console
on DVI output stops working after module i915 is loaded and system changes
graphics mode of console.

Under X everything behave as with previous version - xrandr reports both
outputs, I can theoretically turn DVI output on/off and change it's graphics
mode, but still there's no ouput on monitor.

No progress :-(

I will check it in next week - I had to order LCD with DVI input...

can you please check what happens with 2.12 from sid or with 2.13 from
experimental, using sid's kernel? Details about versions can be read in:
