Bug#588603: usb: Wireless USB keyboard no longer works
fixed 588603 linux-2.6/2.6.32-28 # first report was a little after 2.6.32-15 was released. found 588603 linux-2.6/2.6.32-15 MH wrote: Sorry for the late reply, but I haven't had Internet access for over a week. I'm in the middle of Africa, and our communication infrastructure leaves much to be desired. To answer your question: I was running squeeze. I followed your instructions regarding package history and I believe the kernel that was giving me trouble was 2.6.32-27, or it may have been 2.6.32-15. The dates seem to be a little out of sequence, so I think I may have tried to install the older kernel to solve the problem. Not sure. It was over 9 months ago. I'm fairly certain the keyboard was working after 2.6.32-27. As I said earlier, it's even possible it was user error. Or it may have been a temporary issue with the keyboard charging unit. Sorry I can't be more helpful. Thanks much; I'm glad to hear it's working in squeeze. Bug#588603: usb: Wireless USB keyboard no longer works
Hi, MH wrote: FYI... Strange. I only just received your email below, and never received any others related to this very old bug report. Unfortunately, it was so long ago I don't remember the specifics, but whatever the issue was it resolved itself, either via a system update, or some other mechanism. It may even have been user error. I have been using the keyboard without any issues for at least the past 6 months. Thanks for the update. It should be possible to retrieve the upgrade history of the kernel with a command like zgrep -F 'status installed linux-image-2.6.' /var/log/dpkg.log* |less though it might not extend back too far. Anyway, have you been tracking the squeeze kernel since then or some other repository like sid? Could you name an early-ish version (like 2.6.32-28 or 2.6.38-5, something like that) that you're confident worked? I ask because such information would be very helpful for getting an idea of what happened if it happens again. Anyway, glad to hear your keyboard works again. :) Cheers, Jonathan -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble?
