Package: plymouth
Version: 0.8.3-5
Severity: important

Hi,

plymouth does not work with old versions of cryptsetup for encrypted
root filesystems.

If / is encrypted, crypsetup needs to prompt for the
passphrase before mounting /. If plymouth is running, the normal
console prompt will not work, which will cause the boot to hang and
effectively make the system unbootable (unless there is an alternative
kernel installed).

This was apparently fixed in crypsetup 2:1.1.3-1 (or shortly before). So
maybe plymouth could conflict with crypsetup < 2:1.1.3-1 ?

Greetings,

S.Leske
