This is actually serious as stock sbuild fails horribly to build this:

Checking for already installed source dependencies...
debhelper: missing
Using default version 8.0.0
texi2html: missing
texinfo: missing
automaken: missing
cdbs: missing
Checking for source dependency conflicts...
E: Package 'automaken' has no installation candidate
automaken is a virtual package provided by:
Using (no default, using first one)
Use of uninitialized value in join or string at
/usr/share/perl5/Sbuild/Chroot.pm line 339.
Use of uninitialized value in join or string at

Use of uninitialized value in join or string at

Use of uninitialized value $command in join or string at

Use of uninitialized value in exec at /usr/share/perl5/Sbuild/Chroot.pm line

terminate called after throwing an instance of 'std::out_of_range'
  what():  basic_string::compare

sbuild used to have some support for dependencies on virtual packages, but this
implies telling it which real package to choose. Please add a dependency on a
real package as the first option in an alternative specification.

Kind regards,

Bug#592620: time: FTBFS in ubuntu due to nonexistent build dependency

2010-08-11 Thread Bhavani Shankar R
Package: time
Version: 1.7-23
Severity: important
Justification: fails-to-build-from-source

Hello dear maintainer,

Your package FTBFS on ubuntu due to non existent build dependency automaken

refer:

http://people.ubuntuwire.org/~lucas/ubuntu-nbs/32/time_1.7-23build1_lubuntu32.buildlog

http://people.ubuntuwire.org/~lucas/ubuntu-nbs/64/time_1.7-23build1_lubuntu64.buildlog

It can be circumvented by build depending on automake rather than automaken

regards
