Hi, Le jeudi 14 octobre 2010, Gerrit Pape a écrit : I can report wishlist or minor bugs against the latter packages if you think it is appropriate. Yes, wishlist bugs would be nice. Thank you. I filled the following bugs against all packages I could find that still depend on git-core only: * 600233: giggle * 600236: gitstats * 600237: python-git * 600238: stgit * 600239: moap Package 'qgit' already had a similar bug: 599201 Cheers, Denis -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#600131: dummy git-core package cannot be removed
Package: git-core Version: 1:1.7.2.3-1 Severity: normal Hi, Contrary to what its description states, the 'git-core' transitional package cannot be removed because packages giggle and gitstats (and possibly other) depend on it. It seems that the Conflicts/Replaces of 'git' package upon 'git-core' package is not working properly. # documentation bug severity 600131 minor quit Denis Laxalde wrote: Contrary to what its description states, the 'git-core' transitional package cannot be removed because packages giggle and gitstats (and possibly other) depend on it. Virtual packages (like git-core as provided by the git binary package) cannot satisfy versioned dependencies. So the description ought to say something like: This git-core package is now obsolete, and can safely be removed from the system if no other package depends on it. instead.
