No, nothing to be sorry about.

Can you fill in the blanks for me?  What kernels have you tested since
the original report, and how did each behave?  Does that patch
successfully prevent the driver and card from hanging?  The
conversation upstream seems to have stopped without any conclusion a
couple of months ago.

Thanks for testing.  Drat.

Could you try a 3.x.y kernel from sid or experimental?  (The only
packages from outside squeeze that should be needed to do so are the
kernel image itself, linux-base, and initramfs-tools.)  If it
reproduces the problem, we can get help from upstream, and if it
doesn't, we can try some intermediate versions from
snapshot.debian.org to find a fix to try to apply to squeeze.
