   I'd like to ressurest #600647. It would really be nice to document
 access for oldstable and older, eg:
 
 $ sudo debootstrap lenny ./lenny-chroot http://archive.debian.org/debian/
 
 or
 
 $ sudo debootstrap lenny ./lenny-chroot
 http://archive.debian.org/debian-archive/debian

Just checked with the relevant admins, signatures there tend to
expire, and no re-signing is going to happen; I'm not sure we want to
(pretend we) support debootstrapping from there.
