Bug#612734: O: policyd-weight -- a Perl policy daemon for the Postfix MTA

2011-02-10 Thread Jan Wagner
Package: wnpp
Severity: normal
X-Debbugs-CC: debian-de...@lists.debian.org

I intend to orphan the policyd-weight package. I no longer use policyd-weight
and active upstream development stoped. Anyways, upstream is responsive and is
acting on bugs.

policyd-weight (0.1.15.1-3) unstable; urgency=low

  * Orphan the package.
  * Add 03_cacherejectmsg.dpatch, to have a more verbose reject message on
cache hit, thanks Martin F. Krafft (Closes: #598844)
  * Updating standards version to 3.9.1
- use dh_prep instead of dh_clean -k
  * Update to debhelper 7

The package description is:
 Its intended to eliminate forged envelope senders and HELOs (i.e. in bogus
 mails). It allows you to score DNSBLs (RBL/RHSBL), HELO, MAIL FROM and client
 IP addresses before any queuing is done. It allows you to REJECT messages
 which have a score higher than allowed, providing improved blocking of spam
 and virus mails. policyd-weight caches the most frequent client/sender
 combinations (SPAM as well as HAM) to reduce the number of DNS queries.

I still use policyd-weight on my box; I'd be happy to take it over.

Just realised my previous messages didn't go to the BTS: since 0.1.15.1-3
has just been uploaded, I was planning to give it a few weeks before
uploading another package with myself as Maintainer… it doesn't seem worth
another upload just to make that change (I have subbed to the PTS in the
meantime).

If another reason for uploading doesn't turn up in the next month or so,
I'll make the upload anyway.

[feel free to correct me if I'm wrong above; don't mind making an upload if
that's preferred]
