Bug#614504: Can't install debian 6.0 on a Dell optiplex gx110
It works! I simply removed the quiet option, and I encountered no other problem during the installation process. Thanks. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Contact listmas...@lists.debian.org

Please press TAB on the Install item in the boot menu, and remove the quiet parameter from the kernel command line. Add instead vga=ask and try various modes by hand. If the screen corruption happens later in the process, fb=false may be worth a try as well. -- Thanks, Feri. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#614504: Can't install debian 6.0 on a Dell optiplex gx110
Package: cdrom Version: 6.0 Neither the install nor the graphical install option works. When I choose one of these options, the bottom of the screen gets covered with multicolored snow, and nothing else happens. I burned another cd, and the problem persists. I managed to install and run Lenny on another optiplex gx110 (I gave it to a friend). The debian 5 install process works on this computer. I searched the web with combinations of: debian dell install squeeze gx110 I found no answer yet. Is there a way to solve this problem ? Thanks.
