Just quickly talked about this issue in #debian-boot. kibi pointed out
that this would likely require a second build to not introduce a
dependeny on selinux.

Best regards
Uwe

I have interest. I'm working to unbrick my NAS and having the mtd-utils
available in the installer would simplify this.

Thanks

Would you like the package to have a udeb version like the one that is
referenced at https://wiki.debian.org/DebianInstaller/MTD#MTD_utils ?

Is there still interest in this?

2011-03-23 Thread Jonathan Lane
Package: mtd-utils
Version: 20090606-1
Severity: wishlist

I'm running Debian Squeeze on a Marvell Sheevaplug, and I'd really like to
install Debian directly to NAND memory. The mtd-utils package contains all the
tools needed to do that that aren't already in the installer, and the existing
method of putting a Debian install on the internal NAND is a pain in the rear.
I'm in no real hurry to get this fixed right now, but it would be nice for
future releases like Wheezy.

-- System Information:
Debian Release: 6.0.1
  APT prefers stable
  APT policy: (500, 'stable')
Architecture: armel (armv5tel)

Kernel: Linux 2.6.32-5-kirkwood
Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8)
Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash

Versions of packages mtd-utils depends on:
ii libc6 2.11.2-10Embedded GNU C Library: Shared lib
ii libgcc1 1:4.4.5-8GCC support library
ii liblzo2-2 2.03-2 data compression library
ii libuuid12.17.2-9 Universally Unique ID library
ii zlib1g 1:1.2.3.4.dfsg-3 compression library - runtime

mtd-utils recommends no packages.

mtd-utils suggests no packages.
