Bug#627053: approx update re-adds entry to inetd
Package: approx Version: 4.5-1+squeeze1 Severity: critical Hi, upgrading approx added the line 80 stream tcp nowait approx /usr/sbin/approx /usr/sbin/approx again to my /etc/inetd.conf, although i changed the line so it would only listen to only one ip (apache is used on the others). This breaks the unrelated web server software on the system (when the services are started in a way that allows inetd to listen before the other web servers), so i think critical is the correct severity level. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. I would like to downgrade the severity to normal, since this only occurs when someone hand-edits the inetd.conf file, not during normal installation. In the next release, I'll make it try to detect a nonstandard inetd.conf entry and not do any modifications in that case. -- Eric Cooper e c c @ c m u . e d u -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe.
