Bug#630882: dizzy: shaders are disabled, due to bug now solved
Package: dizzy Version: 0.2-1 Severity: normal At startup of dizzy, it emits a warning that MESA is detected and shaders are disabled, referring to https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=24553 That bug, however, is described as closed. Seems dizzy should be patched to no disable shaders, and instead the package conflict with older mesa packages. -- System Information: Debian Release: wheezy/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 2.6.39-2-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=da_DK.utf8, LC_CTYPE=da_DK.utf8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages dizzy depends on: ii libconvert-color-perl 0.08-1 Perl module for color space conver ii libopengl-perl0.62+dfsg-1+b1 Perl interface providing graphics ii libsdl-perl 2.2.5-1+b2 SDL bindings for the Perl language ii perl 5.12.3-7+b1Larry Wall's Practical Extraction dizzy recommends no packages. dizzy suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. He already fixed this in his Git repository but a possible new release cannot work in Debian because our libsdl-perl is too old. My plan is to apply the patch and disable the pre-rendering of textures on install, which is not required when efficient shaders can be used. I might add a versioned dependency on MESA, but dizzy _can_ work with older MESA versions, albeit slower. I want to wait until the dust from the ongoing MESA changes in unstable settles down though. I do not even have GL working on my netbook at the moment. signature.asc Description: Digital signature
