 Hi,

as part of the ongoing GNOME 3 transitions I'd like to start the
network-manager 0.9 transition soon, as it will be a dependency of
 gnome-control-center 3.0.

Any comments from the release team?

Assuming you've checked with the kde people that they're ready for this
 please go ahead.

I've uploaded nm and it built successfully on all architectures. I've also
uploaded network-manager-{openvpn,pptp,vpnc}
network-manager-applet and networkmanagement will hopefully follow tomorrow.
google-gadgets has been updated in the mean time and the kde team is working on
the kdebase-workspace upload.

gnome-main-menu currently looks like a RM candidate [1].
network-manager-openconnect 0.9 needs and update of openconnect due to [2]. I
haven't reached Ross so far so I'm a bit unsure what to do about that. It looks
a bit to intrusive for an NMU. The alternative would be a RM from testing, which
afaics wouldn't affect any rdeps.

For the remaining packages, please schedule binNMUs for
strongswan
claws-mail
evolution
kdebase-runtime
libsocialweb
packagekit
pidgin
krb5-auth-dialog
liferea
balsa
network-manager-strongswan
empathy

Michael

That's a pre-processor check. So yeah, claws-mail needs to be binNMUed for the
 code to take effect.

Thanks, hours ago I didn't realize that. Next time will leave the stupid
questions for the morning ;-)

Hi,

as part of the ongoing GNOME 3 transitions I'd like to start the
network-manager 0.9 transition soon, as it will be a dependency of
gnome-control-center 3.0.

network-manager 0.9.0-1 is available in experimental and built fine on
all relevant architectures.
The transition includes a soname bump for libnm-glib and libnm-util and
changes in the D-Bus interface regarding online detection status.

- Packages which need sourceful uploads:
networkmanagement (KDE frontend, ready in exp)
network-manager-applet (ready in exp)
network-manager-openconnect (ready in exp)
network-manager-openvpn (ready in exp)
network-manager-pptp (ready in exp)
network-manager-vpnc (ready in exp)

kdebase-workspace (FTBFS with NM 0.9, #640393)
google-gadgets (FTBFS with NM 0.9, #640392)
gnome-main-menu (FTBFS with NM 0.9, #639401)
strongswan (#635890)

- Packages which can be binNMUed but should be updated for the changes
  in the D-Bus API
geoclue (#640401)
empathy (#640402)

- Packages which need to be binNMUed:
claws-mail
evolution
kdebase-runtime
libsocialweb
packagekit
pidgin

krb5-auth-dialog
liferea
balsa
network-manager-strongswan

In case anyone wonders why those packages need to be binNMUed even if they don't
link against libnm-glib2 or libnm-util1.
The reason are the new online states in the D-Bus API which are conditionally
enabled via NM_CHECK_VERSION like in
