* MÃguel [110919 17:08 +]: I've completely removed alsa-utils (and his configuration files) from synaptic, and then I've restarted the system. No changes, same distortion on 44100 Hz content. So I decided to convert an mp3 file to wav and test if aplay does the same distortion. It doesn't. But even gnome-player, that plays the mp3 file with distorsion noises, plays cleanly the converted wav file. So, it's a problem with some recently updated codec. Bug closed herewith. It didn't happed before the packge upgrade. Confirmed the same on this system (amd64) and on a Atom processor laptop (x86). Please remove alsa-utils from your system, reboot and test again.
