Yes, it is. It opens the client window showing SeaBIOS.

Bug#646430: qemu-kvm: Cannot create domain (/usr/bin/kvm exit status 1)

2011-10-24 Thread FladischerMichael
Package: qemu-kvm
Version: 0.15.1+dfsg-1
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

I'm trying to load/create a domain that already worked for more than 1
month but now it fails:

virsh # create /etc/libvirt/qemu/Windows.xml
error: Failed to create domain from /etc/libvirt/qemu/Windows.xml
error: internal error Child process (LC_ALL=C
PATH=/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/sbin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin HOME=/root
USER=root LOGNAME=root /usr/bin/kvm -device ? -device pci-assign,? -device
virtio-blk-pci,? -device virtio-net-pci,?) status unexpected: exit status 1

I'v attached the Windows.xml file. Please let me know if you need further
information to investigate this.

 Dear Maintainer,

 I'm trying to load/create a domain that already worked for more than 1
 month but now it fails:

There's no such concept as domain in qemu/kvm. It is a libvirt term.

Please provide actual qemu-kvm error message(s). If no, please state
which version of libvirt you're using, in order to reassign this bug
to libvirt with proper version.

It is wrong for libvirt to not provide any actual error messages.

Thanks,

/mjt

I was not able to get an error message with more details. The libvirt
version is 0.9.6-1. I assigned this to qemu-kvm because /usr/bin/kvm
belongs to it, please reassign if you see fit.

Cheers,

Ok, reassigning to libvirt.

By the way, is /usr/bin/kvm executable? Just run it under X (as non-root), --
does it open guest window?
