Bug#650596: gnujump: game does not start
This bug is caused by upgrading to version 1.0.6-3 of gnujump. It looks like during the updating of the packaging for gnujump the --datadir configure flag was incorrectly changed to point to '--datadir=/usr/share/games/gnujump' instead of '--datadir=/usr/share/games' as in the previous package. The ~/.gnujump/gnujump.cfg file (correctly) does not get updated during upgrade and default_skin variable will still point to '/usr/share/games/gnujump/skins/default' while the data is now in '/usr/share/games/gnujump/gnujump/skins/default'. Thanks for the reminder, I had planned to fixed this, but forgot about it. It's a trivial fix, though, so I'll get to it soon(tm). Bug#650596: gnujump: game does not start
Package: gnujump Version: 1.0.6-3 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer, * What led up to the situation? Want to play the game. * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or ineffective)? On the console I type: gnujump * What was the outcome of this action? Error. Game does not start. Console output: Loading theme: /usr/share/games/gnujump/skins/default/config.theme ERROR: Can open theme file (/usr/share/games/gnujump/skins/default/config.theme). * What outcome did you expect instead? Start the game and play. I removed and puge the package, and then reinstalled. The same happens. Bug#650596: gnujump: game does not start
Apparently the data files are installed in the wrong directory ?. The message says: Loading theme: /usr/share/games/gnujump/skins/default/config.theme ERROR: Can open theme file (/usr/share/games/gnujump/skins/default/config.theme). But on my system I have this path: /usr/share/games/gnujump/gnujump/skins/default/ Hope this helps. Thanks.
