And fglrxdrm.a should not be on your system. If you're using the debian package, you'll have fglrxdrm.so. If you've installed from amd or elsewhere in the past, you'll have to clean up the crap they've left behind. And fglrxdrm.a should not be on your system. If you're using the debian when I tried to locate fglrxdrm it only showed me /usr/lib/xorg/modules/linux/libfglrxdrm.so There is no lib called fglrxdrm.a package, you'll have fglrxdrm.so. If you've installed from amd or elsewhere in the past, you'll have to clean up the crap they've left behind. I used to purge fglrx-driver before new-installation.
