Bug#657033: qemu: OpenBSD doesn't run in qemu
Could you provide more information about your environment? What was the qemu commandline you used to boot? I've traced this but to DSDT declaring a PCI device with device=16 and OpenBSD using mode 2 PCI config access due to failed probe and being booted without PCI BIOS support (by GRUB2). While I added the passing of PCIBIOS to GRUB if OpenBSD is compiled w/o BIOS support it won't make any difference. It's because qemu wrongfully reacts on word/byte writes to 0xcfa/0xcfb Qemu 1.1 currently in experimental doesn't have this bug anymore. -- Regards Vladimir 'φ-coder/phcoder' Serbinenko signature.asc Description: OpenPGP digital signature

This is an old bug fixed in qemu-kvm package in debian long time ago. This has been diagnosed several times by different people. See http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=653473#46 Most bugs which are filed against qemu-kvm are applicable to qemu too, and the reverse. One of the strengths of qemu is ability to run old operating systems, which may be required to test/play with older application and these sorts of things. This - provided the problem is real - is a bug in qemu, since openbsd definitely run on real hardware.
