Well, it will be closed when a corrected release (maybe 2.63b) will be
uploaded to official archives. For now, I've tagged it as
"fixed-upstream".

Thanks a lot for your efforts in helping making a better blender
package! ;-)

Cheers.

it's fine):

Fix for [#31464] Crash when issuing command line render engine list ("-E help")

So I guess you can mark this as closed, or whatever magic it is you do
here in the BTS :)

That would be great. :-)
Let us know if there is any progress with this issue and, in case it
will be solved, feel free to close this bug report or ask us to do so.

Thanks a lot.

2012-05-14 Thread Dan McGrath
Hey,

I ran into this the other week myself actually. I recall mentioning it
on irc, but I don't think anything became of it though.

Currently, even the latest svn revision still has the problem, so 2.62
testing probably wont help much here.

Anyways, I made an upstream bug report as well, since the devs tend to
pay close attention to their own tracker, and referenced this report
in it:

https://projects.blender.org/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=31464&group_id=9&atid=498

I will try touch base with you guys when the problem gets fixed. Happy blending!

Antonio,

does this issue persists even in 2.62 version package?

Please, let me know.
Thanks.

Cheers.

Bug#658275: blender: SIGSEGV when running: blender -E help

2012-02-01 Thread Antonio Ospite
Package: blender
Version: 2.61-2
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

when I try lo list rendering engines from the command line blender crashes,
this is how to reproduce that:

$ blender -E help
AL lib: pulseaudio.c:331: PulseAudio returned minreq > tlength/2; expect break
up
Blender Engine Listing:
BLENDER_RENDER
BLENDER_GAME
Segmentation fault

This does NOT happen with a build from blender.org.

Here is a backtrace:

Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault.

The problem seems to be caused by the AUD_Reference() dstructor?

Another bug mentioning AUD_Reference:
http://projects.blender.org/tracker/?func=detail&atid=498&aid=28672&group_id=9

but I didn't test if the attached patch fixes the issue.

Since the crash happens in __run_exit_handlers() I think all the rendering
engines are listed, but the user cannot be sure of that from the console
output.

Thanks,
   Antonio
