(cd mtr;aclocal;automake --foreign --include-deps Makefile;autoconf)

This is the required commandline to satisfy "automake".

Automake is intended to make the buildprocess of packages less
dependent on the specific configuration of individual build-machines.
It fails horribly at it's only task.

The plan was simple, like my brother-in-law Phil. But unlike
Phil, this plan just might work.

Bug#662583: FTBFS

2012-03-04 Thread Moritz Muehlenhoff
Package: mtr
Version: 0.82-2
Severity: serious

Your package fails to build from source:

checking for strerror... yes
checking for getaddrinfo... yes
checking whether errno is declared... yes
checking for socklen_t... yes
checking for struct in_addr... yes
checking for C flags to get more warnings... -Wall -Wno-pointer-sign
configure: creating ./config.status
config.status: creating Makefile
config.status: creating img/Makefile
config.status: creating config.h
config.status: executing depfiles commands
configure: WARNING: unrecognized options: --enable-gtk2
make -C mtr
make[1]: Entering directory `/home/jmm/mtr-0.82/mtr'
 cd .. && /bin/bash /home/jmm/mtr-0.82/missing --run automake-1.11 --foreign
configure.in:2: version mismatch. This is Automake 1.11.3,
configure.in:2: but the definition used by this AM_INIT_AUTOMAKE
configure.in:2: comes from Automake 1.11.1. You should recreate
configure.in:2: aclocal.m4 with aclocal and run automake again.
WARNING: `automake-1.11' is needed, and you do not seem to have it handy on your
system. You might have modified some files without having the
proper tools for further handling them. Check the `README' file,
it often tells you about the needed prerequirements for installing
this package. You may also peek at any GNU archive site, in case
some other package would contain this missing `automake-1.11' program.
make[1]: *** [../Makefile.in] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/jmm/mtr-0.82/mtr'
make: *** [build-stamp] Error 2
