I got three crashes of screen while suspending emacs in one year, I hope i'll 
can provide more information.

This sounds a lot like

upstream bug tracker -- with the exception that the reporter there uses
vim instead of emacs :-)

Additionally it may also be related to
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/screen/+bug/369184 in
Ubuntu.
