Bug#675128: Fails to complete downloads and lose the downloaded files

Hi Pierre,

I’m downgrading Severity on this one since I can’t reproduce your
problem and I don’t think grave is appropriate here. It’s in the
nature of software like Miro that sometimes you will encounter network
issues (which are the simplest explanation of your problem). However,
this doesn’t make it unusable for everybody, in the same way that a
browser which sometimes cannot download a specific file for some reason
is not unusable for everybody.

Can you provide a lot more details here? Which file did you download
(URL)? How can you be sure that the file was completely downloaded? Can
you run Miro on a terminal to get its debug output? Can you trace the
network to see whether the download problem might be network-related?

Best regards,
Michael

Bug#675128: Fails to complete downloads and lose the downloaded files

2012-05-29 Thread Pierre THIERRY
Package: miro
Version: 4.0.4-1
Severity: grave

For many downloads, Miro doesn't finish the download and the file,
although completely downloaded, remain in the Incomplete downloads
directory.

Then, next time Miro starts, it usually removes everything in that
directory.
