Bug#675955: mumble-server: Error launching mumble-server 1.2.3-348

2012-06-04 Thread nglacet
Package: mumble-server
Version: 1.2.3-348-g317f5a0-1
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

Dear Maintainer,

   * What led up to the situation?
I upgraded my system this morning. It updated my mumble-server. Since
then, I've the following error message when I try to launch my mumble-server :
/usr/sbin/murmurd: symbol lookup error: /usr/sbin/murmurd: undefined symbol:
_ZN3Ice6upCastEPNS_10ConnectionE

   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
 ineffective)?
I tried to uninstall/reinstall mumble-server, the problem is still here.
I tried to install mumble-server on another Debian Wheezy : it's the
same result.
   * What was the outcome of this action?
The problem is still here, I can't launch mumble-server.
   * What outcome did you expect instead?
I expect that it allow me to start my mumble-server.

PS : sorry for my poor english

Bug#675955: mumble-server: Error launching mumble-server 1.2.3-348

2012-06-04 Thread Ron

Hi,

Do you know what version of this you were using before the upgrade?

This isn't a symbol directly used in the mumble code itself, so my first
guess is that the-me blindly enabled the hardening wrappers and -z now,
and didn't actually test it to find out this screwed with some plugin.

That was a little while ago now though, so I'm a bit surprised nobody
else has noticed it yet if that is really the case.

Knowing which version you came from (or which version you need to go
back to before it works again) would help narrow this down though.

 Cheers,
 Ron

You'll probably need to go back to that version for now.
It turns out the cause of this is the 'fix' for #672066 in zeroc-ice
which breaks ABI. That will need to be reverted, and all affected
packages will need to be rebuilt.

Until that happens, things are probably going to be a bit chaotic
both in sid and wheezy for things using zeroc-ice.

 Sorry,
 Ron

Bug#675955: mumble-server: Error launching mumble-server 1.2.3-348

2012-06-04 Thread Natanaël Glacet
Hello.

I came from the 1.2.3-313-ge5c4657-1 version and go to the
1.2.3-348-g317f5a0-1.
I tried to install it on 3 differents debian wheezy and I've the same error
message.

I tried : upgrade from 1.2.3-313-ge5c4657-1 to 1.2.3-348-g317f5a0-1
install mumble-server on a fresh debian wheezy install ( 1VM 1 desktop).

I don't know if it's all you need ?

Cheers,
Natanaël
