Bug#678957: btrfs-tools: snapshot of a subvolume in itself behaves strangely
Package: btrfs-tools Version: 0.19+20120328-4 Severity: normal On the toplevel of a subvolume (or of the btrfs-file system itself) issue the command btrfs subvolume snapshot . xxx The snapshot xxx now contains itself as an invisible subdirectory, which becomes visible if we produce a snapshot of xxx: btrfs subvolume snapshot xxx yyy yyy will contain an empty subdirectory xxx. (!) There is no way to remove the invisible subdirectory from the snapshot xxx. But yyy/xxx can be removed with rmdir yyy/xxx. -- System Information: Debian Release: wheezy/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (990, 'testing'), (50, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 3.5.0-rc3+ (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=de_DE, LC_CTYPE=de_DE (charmap=ISO-8859-1) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages btrfs-tools depends on: ii e2fslibs1.42.4-3 ii libc6 2.13-33 ii libcomerr2 1.42.4-3 ii libuuid12.20.1-5 ii zlib1g 1:1.2.7.dfsg-13 btrfs-tools recommends no packages. btrfs-tools suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Hi Daniel, Daniel Baumann wrote: reassign 678957 linux retitle 678957 btrfs: snapshot of subvolume in itself behaves strangely thanks this isn't a bug in the btrfs user-land tool, reassigning to the kernel. Please forgive my laziness: since you have looked over the bug very recently, could you provide a quick summary of the symptoms for the kernel team? (Based on the subject line it's possible that it is a duplicate of bug#663067 but don't have the time at the moment to read the report and check.)
