We're still waiting for a transition slot to upload the current linphone
into unstable. The linphone in Debian stable/unstable is extremely old.
The current version (3.12) is packaged in experimental.

Anyway, exactly the smae thing is still happening:

Linphone has only worked once on Debian, many years ago. I have always
had to give up and turn to ekiga before.

I had hoped that it might have been fixed meanwhile, but it seems not
:-(
